Tree City Cats is a nonprofit cat rescue based in Kent, Ohio dedicated to improving the lives of stray and community cats in our local neighborhoods. Founded in 2022, the organization works to humanely reduce the stray cat population while helping individual cats find safe, loving homes.

We use a humane and community-focused approach

Trap-Neuter-Return

Cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and then either returned to their outdoor colony or placed in foster care if they are adoptable. This process helps prevent overpopulation while improving the overall health of local cat communities.

Veterinary Care

Every cat we help receives the medical care they need, including vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, and treatment for illness or injury when necessary.

Foster-Based Rescue

Tree City Cats relies on foster homes where cats can safely recover, socialize, and adjust to indoor life before adoption. This helps prepare them for successful transitions into their permanent homes.

Adoption and Placement

Our goal is to match every adoptable cat with a loving family. Through careful placement and support, we help ensure each cat finds a home where they can thrive.

A Community Effort

Tree City Cats is a grassroots rescue powered by volunteers, foster families, and community support. Donations, supplies, and volunteer time all make it possible to rescue cats, provide medical care, and continue our mission. Located in Kent often called the “Tree City” because of its long history of urban forestry we are proud to serve the local community and work toward a future where every cat has a safe place to call home.
